YesAsia Editorial Description

Based on the Korean comic strip of the same name, Full House earned an average viewing rate of 31.9%, and its final episode attracted 40.2% of all viewers! Song Hye Kyo had previously won the hearts of TV lovers through her skilled performances in popular TV series hits while All In, Hotelier, and Tale of Autumn, while Rain (a.k.a. Bi) is also a famous pop singer. The all-round star (whose real name is Jung Ji Hoon) possesses a dynamic, mellow voice and is known for his down-to-earth and modest behaviour. Director Pyo Min Su was not able to land a potential TV series hit with his earlier, more artistically-inclined works, such as Lie, Foolish, and Solitude, but, with the help of writer Min Hyo Jeong (Rooftop Room Cat), he created a real winner with this touching romantic tale.

Through a tricky scheme by her so-called friends Ji Eun (Song Hye Kyo) loses the ownership rights to her beloved Full House, a luxurious mansion that used to belong to her parents when they were still alive. The new owner of the estate, Yeung Jae (Rain), is Asia's most hailed film star, and always behaves as if he was the ruler of the entire world, while treating others in his habitual straightforward manner. Desperate to get back what rightly belongs to her, Ji Eun uses all her womanly appeal to bring about an advantageous marriage with the over-confident entertainment artist.

joayo! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I recieved this as a christmas gift this year. I'd seen this series a year ago and fell in love with it. It was nice to get it as a keepsake.

If you are in need of a laugh, then this is the drama. The actors are great and this box set even has extras footage. The packaging was nice and it's ALL Region with subtitles so that you don't have to buy a regionless DVD player. I believe this classic is well worth the money. ^^

Excellent Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
Typical Girl movie but with all the bad tv series out now this is really good. I admit it does level off at the middle a little but picks it up with good finish. Actors in this film are really good and Ji-Eun makes me want to give her a big hug after the three bears bit. My first Korean Drama but if anyone knows, what is the difference between the directors cut and the other version. Is it extended by additional scences?

Subtitles Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I agree that the subtitles are not as accurate as it should be. However, in respond to "horrible Subtitles" comment, the publisher "Bitwin" is the one who is responsible for the subtitles, not Yesasia.

Good Drama Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
First of all, I'd like to say thank you to Yesasia as the delivery was extremely quick. The packaging was good aswell as the product came in extremely good quality.

To the DVD itself, it came with 4 DVDs in one box, the layout is pretty good although the DVD can fall out at times lol. The subtitles were nice and clear but the problem was that the subtitles were just basic standard, everything said was subtitled but not at high standard. But luckily I've been watching Korean Dramas for a while now so I pretty much understand all the basic stuff so that suits me well.

The the Drama itself. It's my 2nd time watching it and I don't regret buying the DVD to rewatch it. It was a heart touching Drama and defintely a must watch Drama to everyone.

Full Honors Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Maybe because you're with someone everyday that what was initially mere tolerance turns to enjoyment and even repressed passion, thus making it difficult for either to let go when the circumstances tell them it's the right thing to do. And just when everybody knows of the falsity of the marriage, both still hold on because in their hearts, they know the marriage had just gotten real...

A really simple plot but interesting nevertheless. What started out as a strong beginning stood at a standstill somewhere in the middle, but thanks to the actors' brilliant performance, the series came through quite magnificently. The advantage of having a simple plot is you get to concentrate on the actors' portrayals of their characters. This may be a gamble if you don't have much faith on your actors. In this series, the cast more than delivered. The acting was flawless.

Rain's insufferable bossing around complements the feistiness of Song He-kyo's character. It must have been nerve-wracking to be angry, then surprised, then sad, then charming, then obnoxious, then charming again all in one scene but Rain was able to do it with such fluidity you'd think he really had a mercurial personality. He had all the right expressions perfectly delivered at the right time. You get to appreciate the childlike, or childish, quality of his character when juxtaposed with the confidence and frankness of Kim Seong-su's character.

Speaking of, Kim Seong-su was equally brilliant in this series. His character initially came off as an astute person and he carried that quality all throughout. Seong-su never lost sight of the fact that while Rain's character is rash, his is discerning. His role requires him to be confident and forthright, which he performed with such ease, he looked really cool. Thus, when his professions of love have always been rejected by Ji-eun, his surprised look and disbelieving smile become more effective in manifesting hurt than, say, a tear or two.

Now, the ladies. I was spared the unrefined antics that has been so typical of leading ladies in romcom movies/series of late. Song He-kyo portrayed her character with intensity minus the crass, it was quite refreshing. She clearly has one of the prettiest faces in the business. I heard that before this series, she has only been doing drama. It's good that she's given projects with diverse themes for her to showcase her acting range.

The drama bit of the series rests in this one girl, Hye-won. Her scenes may be few, even far and in between, but her character can actually make or break the drama. Thankfully, Han Eun-jeong, the actress who portrayed Hye-won, performed outstandingly, the drama thus held ground.

I've watched this series several times and not once did it fail to bring a smile. Such is the appeal of this drama, and I consider it a tremendous feat considering that there isn't much going on, story-wise. In fact, the plot seemed a bit stretched that it felt like the people behind the production counted on the popularity and talent of their actors to make this series work for them. Despite the plot not being profound as I wanted it to be, this Korean series is still worth the wee hours that you're up viewing it non-stop.
