  • The Final Combat (DVD) (End) (English Subtitled) (TVB Drama) DVD Region All Ng Man Tat (Actor) | Stephen Chow (Actor) | Francis Ng (Actor) | Jacqueline Law (Actor)
The unstoppable trio of Stephen Chow, Ng Man Tat, and writer-director Lee Lik Chi ruled Hong Kong Cinema in the 1990s with blockbuster comedies like Flirting Scholar, God of Cookery, and The King of Comedy, but their golden collaboration actually began in television. In 1989, they collaborated in two extremely popular TVB dramas, the nonsensical martial arts comedy The Final Combat and urban drama The Justice of Life, launching Stephen Chow into great fame. One of TVB's most classic series, The Final Combat was Chow's first drama as a leading man, and an early forerunner of the riotous period spoofs and motormouth "mo lei tau" humor that would later become his box-office signature. The Final Combat was so popular at the time, Chow's catchphrases in the drama became common colloquial expressions in Hong Kong.

Comedy king Stephen Chow stars as mouthy accidental hero Duan Fei, the capricious and cowardly son of an esteemed martial arts master. Weathering worldly dangers through quick wit and dumb luck, Fei vastly prefers afternoon tea over martial arts duels, but somehow he gets pulled into the center of an epic battle of good versus evil that could bring down the entire martial arts world. Chow's frequent sidekick Ng Man Tat works double in two different roles - a deadly serious swordsman and a villainous transsexual! Also an acclaimed film actor now, Francis Ng is in full-on evil overacting mode as Chow's duplicitous adopted brother who jumps to the dark side in his quest for power.

  • Royal Tramp (2008) (DVD) (End) (English Subtitled) (US Version) DVD Region All Cherrie Ying (Actor) | Huang Xiao Ming (Actor) | Wallace Chung (Actor) | Ning Jing (Actor)
After winning fans across Asia with his starring turns in The Return of the Condor Heroes and Shanghai Bund, top Mainland actor Huang Xiaoming steps into another classic role in the new period drama Royal Tramp from renowned producer Zhang Jizhong. Based on Jin Yong's timeless novel, this Qing Dynasty drama revolves around the mischievous, amorous, and sometimes dangerous adventures of accidental revolutionary Wei Xiao Bao. Portraying a character previously made famous by Tony Leung Chiu Wai (The Duke of Mount Deer), Dicky Cheung (The Duke of Mount Deer 2000), and Stephen Chow (Royal Tramp), Huang brings his own natural charm to the role of a young man who grows up in the brothels and bumbles his way into the Forbidden City. Torn between his friendship with the temperamental Qing emperor and fiercely upright Ming insurgents, Wei is thrown into many life-threatening predicaments - but still finds time to woo and marry seven wives along the way!

Hong Kong actor Wallace Chung (The Patriotic Knights) co-stars as Emperor Kangxi, while the seven beauties who compete for Wei Xiao Bao's affections are embodied by Hong Kong actress Cherrie Ying (Throw Down) and Mainland starlets Ning Jing, Hu Ke, Xiao Li Fei, Shu Chang, Liu Zi, and He Zhuoyan. Royal Tramp also co-stars Elvis Tsui and Tae.

Period swordplay drama Big Shot, adapted from a renowned Gu Long novel, teams up singer/actor Nicholas Tse, acclaimed actress Angelica Lee (Re-cycle), and Mainland rising star Yan Kuan. In her first costume role, Angelica Lee shows a beauty and charm different from that of her many acclaimed contemporary movies. Nicholas Tse, who demonstrated his potential in the swordplay drama Proud of Twins, again portrays a charismatic swordsman. Handsome Yan Kuan plays an up-and-coming hero, no less impressive than the rest of the main cast, in this dynamic drama.

Young girl Tien Sisi (Angelica Lee), born with a silver spoon, always wants to meet Qin, whom she has heard to be a great hero. When she sets out on her journey, she meets the handsome but sometimes melancholic swordsman Yang Fan (Nicholas Tse). They share happy and sad moments together, and together they embark on adventures in a milieu where danger can appear at any time...
